Display Stand Animation
For this module exercise the task is to start with the display stand made during CADHP1 project and make an animation showing the stand being put together. Additional to the original elements of the stand, 3D models made on other exercises will be placed as the items being displayed.
This is the original stand from CADHP1 project.
Since I am going to display other 3D models made in this course, I decided to make it a Noroff stand. So I added some bitmaps to the model.
The first 3D model is the Espresso Can. To have more context in the stand I added as an extra feature the 2D assembly drawing as a bitmap on the table.
Then the train model is added with its drawing.
The blower model is imported and also has its assembly drawing.
I decided to try importing from Revit the house from CAAm1. For this I used a link to the Revit file. I used an image of the site since I do not have any 2D drawings for it.
Finally I included the Inventor model of the gearbox made for CAF module, together with its drawing.
Since there was a Tv in the stand, I decided to try out using a avi movie as a bitmap so it would display during the animation.
Here is an image of the complete stand.
The last step is to set up the camara and make the animation.
Here is a Preview video of the animation. It is posible to see that some elements not only animated for displacement but also for rotation. To better show the main elements, I decided to only have 1 second at the begining without any action and to have 4 full seconds at the end to appreciate the stand completely assembled. Also some elements are animated for longer time than others to make the animation more interesting.
Preview video (640x480, 15 fps, 15sec): https://youtu.be/6KQvedQOSn0
The final render video was made using 1 minute render time per frame, for a total about 4 hours render time.
Animation render video (320x240, 15 fps, 15sec): https://youtu.be/haG4_XqS3MQ
In the end the project plan was updated. I used extra time for improving the animation and also I had one crash of 3Ds Max during my first full animation render. But overall, I felt it wasva smooth project.
